Morris "Dino" Robinson Jr. Way
February 8, 2021
Congratulations, Dino!
In recognition of his tireless efforts to document and preserve African American history in Evanston, Morris "Dino" Robinson Jr. will have an honorary street sign named after him in Evanston, Illinois. Robinson founded Shorefront Legacy Center in 1995. The center's archival collections are meant "to inspire research on and about the local Chicago suburban North Shore Black communities."
Shorefront has also produced its own journal, published works on North Shore Black history and most recently unveiled Shorefront Voice, a collection of oral histories conducted by Dino Robinson. And the efforts of Robinson and Shorefront to document African American history were crucial to the city of Evanston's historic reparations plans. Robinson is also a member of the BMRC's Board of Directors.
