NEWS: BMRC FELLOWS' FALL SPEAKER SERIES -- OCTOBER 25
October 3, 2023
This year our Summer 2023 BMRC Fellows are participating in our inaugural BMRC Fellows' Fall Speaker Series which will run through December. Twelve scholars and writers from a variety of disciplines--including architecture, American history, music history & theory, education, English, library & information science, linguistics, and journalism--were selected for a summer research residency here in Chicago. The BMRC funded their research and afforded them concentrated time to peruse archival collections at multiple BMRC repositories over the summer. Everyone competed for the fellowships by submitting proposals of original research focused on an aspect of the history, culture, and experiences of Black Chicagoans. The specific subject matter is reflected in the titles and abstracts of their research proposals which you are encouraged to review.
Each session will feature a fellow as the primary speaker and a selected discussant who is familiar with the fellows' chosen research path and current project. Stay tuned to our website, follow us on social media via@ChicagoBMRC, and check theFellows' Fall Series Full Schedule
